The Historical Grand Prix of Monaco

Daryl and Mathieu were very fortunate to join our friend Mitch and his son Emilien at the Historical Grand Prix in Monaco.  This takes place a couple of weeks before the Formula 1 Grand Prix, on the same track.   Another day to remember.

Mathieu and Emilien enjoying some drinks, waiting for the race to start.
Cars taking their pole positions for the first race (pre WWII cars).
Lining up for the second race (50's and 60's cars).

A Weekend with Mimi la Souris

A fun weekend was had by all as we welcomed Mimi la Souris (Mimi the Mouse) into our family. Mimi is a special 'doudou' (stuffie) that spends one weekend with each of the students in Claire's class throughout the school year.  Claire was so excited when it was her turn!  Mimi comes with an adventure book that you fill with photos of Mimi with your family.  Having Mimi for the weekend was a bit like having a fifth child for the weekend, however the more the merrier :o)

Check out what was flying in our house last night.  Marcus said it was a flying meatball :o)

Fun with Maria and Sierra

Maria and Sierra came to visit us for one week, and just went home yesterday.  Sierra was the first 'kid customer' (as Claire would say).  We loved having them with us......here are a few photos of our adventures.  Thanks for making our week so special Maria and Sierra :o)

Mathieu's 6th Birthday!

We celebrated Mathieu's 6th birthday on April 30th.  He spent the morning with a friend at his favourite 'atelier' (art/craft workshop), and we headed to Ludiparc in La Colle sur Loup for a family picnic in the afternoon.  His request for his picnic lunch was a baguette sandwich (which he stressed meant he wanted the entire baguette) and a 'coca' (coke).  To make the day even more special, after the park we headed to the airport to pick up our good friend Maria and her daughter, Sierra, who came to visit from Tomohawk, AB for a week.  The supper request from Mathieu was McDonald's (which there are a few of here) and a 'tarte au fraise' (strawberry tart) for dessert.  It was a perfect day :o)  Hard to believe our Mathieu is now 6!
